Reintroduce

Throbbing lights,
music so loud,
your pulse seems to change its rhythm.
A reunion they called it.
( it'll be fun, I promise, just come)
A batch of two hundred, there are forty here.
Too dark to see, too loud to hear.
A reunion they called it.
Limbs flaying, hips swaying,
the laughter stained with a tinge of forced.
Pass a comment now, now call for a toast.
A reunion, they cheer.
Dresses, almost all worthy of a ramp
dissed like a common rag
then there are jean clad legs
being scorned and scorning in
equal measure.
Reunion they are still screaming.
I'm laughing with the four
I don't need a reunion to meet.
Everyone else gets a half smile
this is great, lost almost friends tell me
This reunion promises fun times.
and then, blue light falls
now red now green
on a face so familiar
but two years ago
eyes gesture, both together to the door
we slip out
hands reach out
to wrap around our waists
faces buried at
the crook of the neck
tearful gasps
of do you even remember
and promises to never
go this long without
meeting, talking again.
promises made of fervent sincerity
but this littlest bit
inside know the lie.
so we talk now, just
outside the room
apart from those still
reveling in the reunion
we reacquaint
we share all that is new
 to each each other
our new selves, a little older
a little tweaked
we reintroduce.
