"Do you have a blog?"
Well, yes.
"It's kind of a fad these days, isn't it?"
I suppose so.
"I mean, everyone has a blog!"
That might be a bit of an exaggeration, don't you think?
"Did I tell you about my cousin? He blogs about cane furniture. How ridiculous, don't you think?"
Ridiculous? Uh, I don't quite see why-
" Who'd want to read about cane furniture, now? Even if those birds' nests he made were pretty."
I'm sure a lot of people would share his interests. Blogging is a great way to meet people, you know.
"Of course you'd think that!" *sugary smile* "So tell me, what's your blog about?"
Oh, bits and pieces. I just like putting down what I think.
"An online diary, you mean? What's wrong with a nice private diary?"
It's not a diary. it's just a way to find people who can relate to what I'm saying or maybe disagree with me, introduce new ideas.
" I don't really get why it's necessary."
It's not. I like doing it.
" I know how you kids are. If something is 'cool', everyone wants to do it "
Aren't you generalising a little?
" But you have to say that! It's exactly what my cousin says. Honestly, this blogging business just encourages his obsession with cane."
It's a passion. but you might not get it, I understand. people have different tastes.
" Are you accusing me of being tasteless. I have good tastes. Didn't I say those nests were pretty?"
*wonders why this conversation is still on*
" Hmph. Can I see it?"
Uh, sure.
" Oh, nice poem."
It's not really meant to be a- ah, forget it.
" No no, tell me."
I'm just experimenting with abstract writing without the necessity of structured plots or even structured sentences.
" But why is it not a poem then?"
*sighs.*
Okay, it is.
" Then why did you deny it in the first place?"
Never you mind.
" So, do you earn from your blog?"
No.
" Why not?"
I choose not to.
" Then why run a blog?"
I like writing. It's just a space to let me write.
"It's because all your friends have one, isn't it?"
*walks away*
